Success is steady progress

Things are moving along quite nicely in Alleria.
We've welcomed our new neighbor Deena.

(Don't worry - she has eyes. Bad timing for the picture.)
It seems like she is fitting in and feeling comfortable already.

She seems nice. It's just weird that it appears she lives in a mans' gym.

Yesterday
was a pretty big day in Alleria.
First off, it was our first spring shower.

The rain...it's almost soothing. I love how squishy the grass sounds, how the whole feel of the town changes when it's raining. I spent a large chunk of time fishing for that rare coelacanth. No dice. Not even a spotting.

Then we found out that Nook 'n Go would be upgrading today. On Sunday. The one of two days when I get a chance to spend quality time making money. Unfortunately Nook doesn't seem to keep a day planner. It seems that he forgot he was planning on this:

Because this is the message directly after that one:

Ugh. Thanks Nook.

No more late night snack runs for Chrissy and me.

It also seems that Blathers is keeping busy. The museum is filling up, slowly but surely.

The dino room is turning from a creepy empty room to an awe-inspiring history-filled display.

It's really nice to see just how much progress we're making!

Yesterday was also a big deal because it was the first time I ventured out to somebody else's town. The gracious host was Emma in Hollywoo. She let me pick up the fruit that Alleria was missing!

I dropped it off in Alleria and went back to join in fishing and bug catching contests.
I ended up getting second in fishing and tied for first in the bug catching. It was really fun!

The most interesting thing was getting the chance to check out another person's town. The layout was fascinating! It made me jealous to have such easy access for fishing. The river ran parallel to the ocean for a stretch, making switching between both a matter of a few steps.

The way the river flowed into the ocean was really cool! Mine flows straight into the ocean. But Hollywoo had a really neat curve.
Hollywoo also had a super long path up to the top part of town that looked awesome. I don't have a picture of it but it looked great. I can't wait to visit more towns to see how everybody else lives!

And last but not least, two funny comments I've come across.
First one - it seems like Avery is getting a little stir crazy!

Geez! Marcel is one of the nicest dogs in the world! It wasn't the only comment like that he made yesterday. He said the same thing about Winnie.
And second - I stopped in at GracieGrace while wandering around the city and heard this:

Hahahahahaha. Me too, Hugh.

March Charm

Easy enough.
But it must be done by somebody who doesn't live in Alleria.
If you would like to gain a little luck for yourself (that's what you get, right?), let me know and you can take out a little aggression on one (1) tree here in Alleria. If you like, I'll help you with your charm too!

The lucky streak continues

Last night I did a lot of fishing. While I didn't find the tuna I was looking for, I did come across something peculiar. After selling a load of fish at Nook's I found this:

An empty lamp. I picked it up and started back to the path.

It was Wisp!
I've never seen Wisp before so this was exciting.

Since Wisp is only comfortable in small confined spaces (i.e. the lamp he lives in) we moved up to the attic.

He granted me my wish (I chose to get a furniture item - a retro stereo) and he disappeared a happy ghost.

After the excitement of meeting Wisp I wasn't in the fishing mood any longer. I took a trip to the city to see what was going on. I wandered into the Happy Room Academy and found my room as the display for this month!

After that happy news I went over to check on what Redd was selling. I skeptically picked up a wistful painting. The last couple paintings I've bought have been fakes so I wasn't holding out much hope for this one.

Wait....what? It WAS real! So now I have a grand total of two paintings in the museum.

Pretty snazzy, huh?

I also had the chance to meet Gracie.

I laugh at your bourgeois idea of fashion!

Not only that but I had the honor of running into a VERY old friend.

Vladimir! 'Ole Buddy 'Ole Pal! We go waaaaaaaaaaay back to Roseton. Ahhhhh. Good times, great memories. Roseton's population sure was growing, if you know what I mean!

And before I left back to Alleria I had one more thing to check.....what if....

IT WAS!
I got to visit with Resetti! Again! How freakin' lucky was that?!

And with that, I returned home to Alleria. Before heading off to bed, I helped Static find his lost key.

So now I'm wondering just how long this lucky streak will continue.
Here's to hoping that it is as long as possible!

Out and about

Our dear friend Moe has left Alleria.

A stark brown patch of dirt among a sea of green grass is all that's left to remind us that Moe's house once stood here. That plus an advertisement for Tom Nook.
He did leave me a sweet note in my mailbox.

I'll miss you too, Moe.

It seems like spring fever has spread around Alleria. Everybody is out and about, enjoying the sun and playing games of hide and seek. The other day, Astrid invited me to join her, Miranda, and Rhonda in a game.

Girls only! Well, little did they know....I happen to rock at seeking out large colorful animals who pick out terrible hiding spots.

Trees are terrible hiding spots. Peeking out from behind them makes it worse.
While I didn't find Miranda in time (pizza delivery takes priority over finding a hiding pink duck), I did beat Antonio, Chrissy, and Astrid. However, my victory celebration was cut short.

A POND SMELT?! Really?
What a lame prize! I guess the joke was on me...

It seems like Lady Luck has been by Alleria.
1.) Wendell stopped by for a visit and gifted a horizontal (I think) path.

2.) Museum of Alleria has another completed dinosaur - the dimetrodon!

3.) I got my silver shovel from Resetti!

Yes! I don't check religiously to see if the cone is moved but last night I decided to head over to the city and check. And it was!
For some reason, the best picture wouldn't save so when I left Resetti's surveillance center I went to try again and accidentally took another picture. D'oh! I hate how you can only have one picture at a time...I lost a true rare moment - Resetti handing over my new shovel. Oh well.
Before I went home for the night, I checked the cities main square and found an old friend.

GAAAAAAASTON!
Anybody who visited me in the 'wild world' of Kradia knows that Gaston and I were best of buds. It was so nice to see him visiting the City.
By the way Gaston, Alleria is looking for a new neighbor!!

The times...they are a-changin'

Before I went to bed last night, it was crisp and cold.

I didn't realize that over night all that crisp cold snow would disappear! Imagine my surprise to wake up to this!

Wow! Sweet sweet greenery! (Note that the solid green blocks are the path I'm hoping to form)

I enjoyed walking around Alleria in the warm sunshine! What a gorgeous February day.
But with the season change, it seems that Moe is feeling that uncontrollable itch to take off.

He has been talking about moving away but despite my best efforts to convince him to stay, it seems like Moe will be the first Allerian to leave. How sad!

Awww, Moe.
Probably my first friend in Alleria, he sent me an invitation to Redd's. His bright smile was always seen around town. We'll miss him!

Festivale

Thanks to
Animal Crossing Community, I knew in advanced how tedious furniture collecting is on Festivale. I had a late start but decided I wanted to try to collect what I could anyway. The cheery music and confetti flying through the air put me in the mood. Besides, my house is in dire need of an actual furniture set! Up until now, I was just using it to keep random pieces I liked and had no plan for which set I would begin to collect. So I set off to find Pavé....

Needless to say, Pavé was not hard to find.
After two hours and numerous mental soccer matches, I had an incomplete furniture set, an extra carpet, and a headache to boot. But atleast I had a decent looking room!

Okay...maybe it's a little Grandma-y.

But it works! By the way - if anybody has an extra end table, closet, and chest I would be happy to talk about trades.....
